How we look after your data
Last updated: 30 September 2026
On this page we clearly explain what information Barcelona Informático receives when you use barcelonainformatico.com, what it is used for and how you can exercise your rights. This information relates only to this website.
1. Controller and contact
Controller: Barcelona Informático.
Contact email and exercise of rights: info@barcelonainformatico.com.
The tax and business identification data still to be provided and verified are not included on this page. The policy will be updated when those data are completed or changed.
2. Data we process
- To handle an enquiry we collect your name, email and telephone number, as well as the message, the referring page, the contact time and the city when the form requests it.
- For technical protection and anti-fraud purposes, the IP address, browser or device and technical logs are recorded. When the form is submitted, an approximate location is also obtained from the IP address.
- Registering an account includes name, email and, optionally, telephone number. The password is stored using a hash, without keeping it in readable text.
- Managing an order requires identity and contact data, the delivery or service address and information about the products or services requested.
- In a payment transaction we receive your identifiers and its status. Stripe processes the full card data; this website does not process it.
- If you accept the corresponding category, cookies and similar technologies allow us to measure visits and actions on the website, such as calls, WhatsApp contacts and forms.
- Public reviews: public name, rating, date and comment that Google publicly displays on the Barcelona Informático Business Profile.
3. For what purpose and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to enquiries and preparing a requested service. | Pre-contractual measures requested by the data subject and, where applicable, consent. |
| Creating and maintaining an account. | Performance of the relationship requested by the user. |
| Managing orders, payments, invoicing and after-sales support. | Performance of the contract and compliance with legal obligations. |
| Protecting the website, preventing abuse and keeping technical logs. | Legitimate interest in maintaining the security of the service and, where applicable, legal obligations. |
| Measuring the use of the website and its conversions. | Consent through the cookie notice. |
| Displaying reviews already published on the Business Profile. | Legitimate interest in presenting genuine opinions about the service; the source is the public Google profile. |
4. Providers and recipients
The operation of the website requires the collaboration of the following providers, which may process data only when necessary:
- HostGator: hosting of the application and the database.
- Amazon Web Services: private storage of Barcelona Informático media.
- The Google services used include reCAPTCHA, Analytics 4, Ads and Tag Manager, as well as Google Business Profile for managing reviews.
- Proprietary browsing analysis tool: reconstructs sessions and generates heatmaps when you authorise the "Recordings and heatmaps" category. It uses hosting and private storage infrastructure; this does not imply that Smartlook is used.
- Payments are processed through Stripe when the shop and payment features are enabled.
- The email provider manages the sending and receiving of messages linked to enquiries and transactions.
- When the form is submitted, ipapi calculates an approximate location using the IP address.
The processing carried out by certain providers may take place outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, the mechanisms and safeguards offered by the provider and required by data protection regulations apply.
5. Retention
We keep the information for as long as necessary for its purpose and, afterwards, for the periods required to comply with legal obligations or respond to possible liabilities. An account is kept while it is active or until you request its deletion, except for information that must be blocked or retained by law. Technical and consent logs are kept for the time necessary to protect the service and evidence the preferences chosen.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Necessary cookies maintain the session, security, language, cart and your privacy choice. You can accept all of them, reject the optional ones or choose statistics, recordings and heatmaps, and advertising separately. Each optional tool is only activated when it is configured and you have authorised its purpose.
Statistics measure visits and actions, such as clicking on telephone, email, WhatsApp or the form. Browsing recordings reconstruct what happens within this website: mouse movements, clicks and scrolling, in order to detect errors and improve its use. They are not a recording of your camera or of other applications. Form fields are masked in the recording tool; avoid entering sensitive information that is not necessary for your enquiry.
You can change or withdraw your consent from "Configure cookies", in the footer of this website, at any time and without ceasing to browse its pages. Withdrawing it stops future optional capture; to request the deletion of data already collected, write to the contact email indicated above.
You can continue reading the public pages even if you reject non-necessary cookies. Features that require a session may still need technical cookies.
6.1. Our own visitor counter
If you accept statistics, we store a random identifier in your browser for a maximum of one year to avoid counting reloads as new visitors. Its fingerprint is stored in our database, separated by website, along with the visit dates; it does not include your name, email or IP address. We delete identifiers with no activity and daily records older than one year; aggregated totals are kept. You can withdraw your permission from "Configure cookies": the browser identifier is deleted and this recognition stops. The public counter combines, where it exists, a historical record imported from Analytics with our own measurement; it is an estimate and does not identify individuals or allow deduplication between both periods.
6.2. Subscription to new posts
If you subscribe to the blog, we use your email to send you notices of new posts on this website, with your consent. We keep the subscription while it is active; you can cancel it through the unsubscribe link in each message. We may keep proof of your consent or unsubscription when necessary to evidence and respect your choice.
7. Google reviews
The website may automatically synchronise reviews that are already public on the verified Barcelona Informático Business Profile. No access to Gmail, Drive or other services of the Google account is requested. If you wish to modify or remove the original review, you must also manage it from Google; you can write to us if you consider that a copy shown here should be reviewed.
8. Rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability of your data, withdraw a consent without affecting prior processing and object to decisions based solely on automated processing where applicable. Send your request to info@barcelonainformatico.com, indicating which right you wish to exercise and the information necessary to reasonably verify your identity.
If you need to lodge a complaint, you can contact the Spanish Data Protection Agency. We do not adopt automated decisions with legal or similar effects on those who visit the website.
9. Security and changes
Data protection includes access controls, encrypted connections, separate secrets and private storage, with technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risk. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed. If providers, features or regulations change, we will review this policy and update the date of the published version.
